About

Hey there! My name is Emily. I'm 22, I'm from New Jersey, and I love to crochet! I'll be the first to admit that I'm not the best at it, but I am steadily improving. My projects are simple and humble, and that's how I like it. I don't strive to use the most complex stitches or fanciest yarns, but I am always open to learning new techniques and reinforcing my existing repertoire of skills. Since I've created blogs for a couple of my other hobbies and thoroughly enjoyed them, I figured I'd make one for this, too. (Here's a link to my nail polish blog, which I've been keeping up for 5 years now!)

I donate the majority of my pieces to Warm Up America, a Texas-based non-profit that distributes crocheted and knitted goods to people in need. The link will take you to their website, where you can learn all about their organization. For me, crochet is no fun if I keep everything for myself. There's nothing like making a newborn-sized hat and knowing that it will keep a needy baby's head warm this winter. WUA encourages those interested in donating to seek out local orgs before shipping directly to them. Of course there's no such thing in my podunk corner of northwestern NJ, so I mail my pieces to them.

As for the format of this blog, I expect these posts to vary wildly in length and amount of detail. I'm not very consistent with my blogging style – one post will be nothing but the bare minimum, then the next will be a novel's worth of babble about every topic under the sun. I'm not sure how often I'll update this site or if I'll even keep it going for very long. I guess we'll just have to wait and see!
